As we continue to grow, we’re excited to be opening a dedicated Bakehouse—allowing us to create even more of our delicious bakery products for you to enjoy at home, under our new brand, Creative Gardens Food Co.

 

Delivery Driver/ Merchandiser (F1018)

Salary: £28,080 (£13.50 per hour)
Responsible to: Bakehouse Production Manager

Hours of work: Full time, permanent - Shift times to be confirmed, 5 shifts per week and will include 1 weekend day

 

Role Purpose

Our Delivery Driver/ Merchandiser role plays a vital role in ensuring Creative Gardens Food Co. products are delivered safely, presented beautifully, and available for customers across all of Creative Gardens Garden Centres.

This role is much more than making deliveries.  You will be responsible for maintaining attractive, fully stocked retail displays that reflect the quality of our Creative Gardens Food Co. brand.  Through excellent merchandising, careful stock rotation and close communication with the Bakehouse Production Manager, you will help maximise sales while reducing waste.
 
You will become the eyes and ears of the Bakehouse within our retail areas, providing valuable feedback on customer buying trends, seasonal demand and product performance.
 
Once deliveries and merchandising have been completed, you will support the Bakehouse team with stock preparation, cleaning and other operational duties.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Retail Merchandising

• Merchandise all Creative Gardens Food Co. retail displays across our four garden centres.

• Ensure displays are attractive, fully stocked and maintained to the highest standard.

• Rotate stock using First In, First Out (FIFO) principles.

• Remove products approaching the end of shelf life or below quality standards.

• Ensure pricing and product labelling is accurate and presentable.

• Monitor stock levels and identify replenishment requirements.

• Report best-selling lines, slow-moving products and customer buying trends to the Bakehouse Production Manager.

• Maintain consistent Creative Gardens Food Co. brand standards across every retail location.

Delivery & Distribution

• Assist with loading the delivery vehicle accurately and safely.

• Deliver bakery products to all Creative Gardens locations on schedule.

• Ensure products arrive in excellent condition.

• Follow delivery schedules and planned routes efficiently.

• Build positive working relationships with colleagues at each site.

Stock Control & Administration

• Complete delivery documentation accurately.

• Use EPOS systems to record stock transfers where required.

• Report stock discrepancies or shortages promptly.

• Maintain product traceability.

Vehicle Responsibilities

• Carry out daily vehicle safety checks.

• Keep the delivery vehicle clean and presentable.

• Report vehicle defects immediately.

Bakehouse Support

• Prepare stock for future deliveries.

• Assist with packing and dispatch.

• Clean work areas and equipment.

• Support the Production Manager and wider Bakehouse team as required.

 

Essential Criteria

• Full, clean UK driving licence (aged 25+ for insurance purposes, no more than 3 penalty points)

• Excellent organisational and time management skills.

• Strong attention to detail and pride in presentation standards.

• Ability to work independently while managing priorities.

• Good communication and customer service skills.

• Physically capable of lifting and moving bakery products safely, bending, stooping standing.

• Reliable, punctual and dependable.

• A commitment to quality and presentation.

Desirable Criteria

• Previous delivery driving or multi-drop experience.

• Experience in retail merchandising or visual display.

• Experience working with food products.

• Food Safety or Hygiene qualification (or willingness to undertake training).

• Experience using EPOS or stock management systems.
